The problem with having too much choice is favourites often barely exist, things are used for a few days and then its on to the next compact, lipstick or eyeshadow. For me favourites are the items that for a few days I find myself using, for instance the Real techniques buffing brush which I am obsessed with for my application of foundation, the thing is as I type this sentence I am using my Sigma foundation brush rather a lot again, so you see how fickle favourites can be?

Lets go through the list of my October favourites,

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer - all the hype about this finally got to me and the older I get the more I love a good, non creasing concealer. I love this, the colour, texture and packaging. It doesn't sit under the eye area and the Light 3 Honey colour really works beautifully with my skin.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush - this has to be one of the best brushes on the market and at a reasonable price, it would be nice to be able to buy them all individually however and not part of a set. This buffing brush just takes the hard work out of blending and perfecting foundation. I love the ease of pushing foundation into the skin, especially over and in pores. A great brush, which explains why I have two!

Dior Tan BB Creme - 002
My initial purchase of this was one of my rare feelings I had made a mistake buying it, it was far too dark on my skin. After a holiday and a rather lovely tan, this Dior creme came into its own helping me adapt my foundations to the correct shade while my tan faded.

L'Oreal Magique Foundation - 190 - Beige Rose, so this was a case of jumping on the cosmetic band wagon and I am so glad I did. I love this fountain, the consistency though watery is no problem, a little goes a long way, application by fingers as it advises or with the awesome buffing brush just makes skin look as near to perfect as I can get. Buy some!

Charlotte Tilbury - Rock'N'Kohl Eye Pencil - Barbarella brown.

I know its only an eye pencil, but sometimes its just a colour that really works with your colouring that takes it up a notch and this is where I am with this Barbarella beauty. Brown is brown, and I love my Mac coffee pencel but this is a red brown, chestnut almost and it just works with my eye colour, the more I apply the more I love it. I don't care if it makes my eyes look smaller, I've always thought wear what you want if you like something.

Kiehls Facial Oil - I love my oils and serums, you know me, skincare is my second love in the world of beauty, after red lipstick. This is quite watery for an oil, nice pipette for easy application, blends onto my skin and absorbs leaving a soft glow. Makes my skin happy.

Molton Brown Body Washes - it's the smell, thats it really, black pepper and pink pepper pod, spicy, warming and wintery - add a long soak in the bath with a good book and that's me happy.

Chanel Rouge Noir Nail Polish - it's iconic, classy and on short nails lasts ages. Long nails I find varnish chips easily but short nails colour lasts longer and typing is also easier. One coat gives a red tone to the nails, keep going and its depth of black stands out.

So October is nearly through and we go headlong into November, a month that is just a pedestrian crossing to December and Christmas for most of us.

Wonder what will be on the list next month?
