MAKING UP MY MIND ABOUT MAKEUP

Featuring the products I use is a daily occurrence on my Instagram beauty page, although real life pops it's head up there occasionally.
I have all my colour on a dressing table, so I can choose each day from the varied daftamountofmakeup makeup options I have stacked in perspex drawers.
Depending on my mood and the day ahead, my makeup is generally the same, even using different products. I much prefer putting makeup on others than my own face.

Today I was heading into my town for a few items of shopping, so a reasonably presented face was on the agenda, I find putting makeup on very therapeutic, although creatively my own face can bore me.
Firstly I headed for the Tom Ford primer, which illuminates without the need for shimmer and glitter, a huge plus if like me you can resemble a disco ball at times. My dark circles are always a problem and I know there is little that can be done, other than to disguise them as best I can, Chanel corrector is superb and the peach shade works well for my skin tone. Next the CC cream with medium coverage and a nice dewy finish without the face looking greasy -Bourjois CC Cream Nars Eyelid Primer is a must, if like me you have greasy lids (nice!), a tiny amount stops any creasing on the lid - one of the best primers.

Hourglass certainly know how to present a product and the quality doesn't stop there, the Ambient Powders are so finely milled, soft to apply and barely visible. They make for a great take the shine away powder without caking the face and gathering on makeup. I adore the shade Dim light.

Concealer is a must and even with a corrector, concealer lifts and brightens the under eye area. Rimmel Wake Me Up is superb, creamy without being too thick and doesn't cake too much, great range of shades also.

Eye palettes, oh the choice! This time I used L'Oreal eye palette in the Beige shades, they also have a Rose version. A great choice of colours, from the highlight the brow bone shades, to eyelid colours for a simple look to strong smokey shades that give definition. Pigment is good and the pan colour is pretty much what you have to work with from your brush.

My favourite eyeliner of all time, Clinique eyeliner in True Black, strong colour, stays in place all day, applies well in a subtle line and equally well in a strong cat eye flick. Superb, rich consistency.

Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara, this luscious beauty, is superb. It coats the lashes with oodles of product, the thick wand coats every lash, lengthening and curling as it goes.

Regular readers will know I have a love of highlighter and even with the illuminating primer, there is something about adding a glow to the tops of the cheek bones that I adore. Suqqu have this lovely pearlescent offering which gives a sheen without the horror of my heavy handed application of glittery powder. For the blush I chose one that gives a nice volume of colour without being too obvious.
This warm pink from Model & Co blends softly onto the skin, I tend to head towards cream blushers for the hot months.

Hourglass as ever have these lip delights and I have them on two shades, this is the Hourglass Lip Colour in Muse, a gorgeous lip tint that has the strongest pigment. I pat this down so I get the benefit of the great colour but don't scare the neighbours. A matte finish that holds until the end of the day.

The final looks, simple eye, hint of colour on the cheeks. I take highlighter to the apples of my cheeks, so you can see a slight luminosity which is backed up by the illuminating primer. Love the Hourglass lip patted down and the eyeliner extended further out than planned - I splodged liner as I'd finished so had to incorporate it.
