IT TAKES TWO - Giorgio Armani & Origins

In the grand scheme of things, there is little time to appreciate the products of old, we gallop through new listings of makeup and skincare, pretend that we'll actually use up the old stuff first before moving onto to the new products. But, this morning I suddenly realised how much I still really liked two long-standing products.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation can always be relied upon to do just that, luminosity and a gorgeous silky hue to the skin are guaranteed. This covers all bases, it's subtle and lightweight but, it evens out and brightens the skin. The silky glow is beautiful and super flattering on my mature skin, it doesn't collect in pores or cake over dehydrated areas. Sadly, it hasn't had the love it deserves this year, as part of my aim to actually use products until they are as empty as empty can be, this was grabbed from the drawer and I fell in love again. 4.5 is a great shade for my skin in colder months as it does lighten, I would need a darker tone for the summer but it is something that would be worthwhile with this foundation.

Concealers are ten a penny now, every conceivable consistency and every promise under the sun that they will obliterate those dark circles, cover pimples, breakouts, you name it, the concealer has it covered (literally).
A long time favourite of mine is Origins Plantscription, again, the consistency works on my skin, it covers but it's not a texture that gathers, the shades are not overly stark and actually work better for not being too light. This is one of the few that photographs well on me and lasts all day without using a setting powder. One I have and will continue to repurchase.
