Rimmel 25hr Lasting Finish Foundation
shade 200
Full Coverage (red lid)

At heart I am old fashioned girl and after working years on a beauty counter there is nothing I like more than a full face of makeup (or slap - if you prefer). Full coverage is no longer 'the fashion' but sometimes it's the only answer and I love a bit of full coverage sometimes, nights out, days when I want to shock my fellow shoppers in the local supermarket.

Rimmel have brought out this offering in the full coverage world and cleverly also released a light to medium coverage version to. The red lid is the full coverage and the white lid offers subtly.
I wasn't looking for subtle, full coverage caught my eye, a great shade match in 200 and hopefully a foundation finally from Rimmel that I like, I've just never found one that suited me.
Offering the addition of a comfort serum, SPF 20, sweat, heat, humidity and transfer proof, also 25 hour lasting - I have no idea when I will ever wear foundation for that long!
Let's apply and go.

Great consistency, serum texture is obvious, giving the foundation a weight that melts almost when applied but seriously covers all in it's wake. The beauty of today's foundations are even the heaviest coverage don't look or feel mask like at all. This certainly gave superb full coverage without looking like Bette Davis In
Whatever Happened to Baby Jayne!

The colour was perfect and blended easily, I am not a fan of taking foundation down the neck, for me it should naturally blend to nothing by the time you hit the jaw area.
Application was easy with a beauty blender sponge, for me it worked the serum loaded foundation evenly onto my face. I had used a buffing brush initially and though it blended reasonably well, I also needed to push the product into the face, the sponge replaced the brush.
I liked the foundation with and without powder, without it gave a lovely dewy glow (which I am channelling this month, glow, glow, glow), with powder it gives a softer, gentler look to foundation, less glow more hint of matte.

Overall this has been a drugstore highlight, great to find a great quality foundation that gives results without the high price. A foundation that offers the full coverage finish of yesteryear without the caked face and it certainly lasts.
