Autumn has left me with no choice but to alter my skincare and makeup, the light is so different as the leaves redden and the chill in the air gives way to bed socks and hot water bottles, yes, plural!
My skin has lightened, it's sun-kissed glow, gone, vanished and replaced with Winter white, actually, more hint of custard, bought, not home made.
So, here is a smattering of the products that help to stave off skin and makeup winter blues.
From only using a facial oil as part of my evening skincare routine I am now applying oils whenever the moment allows, my central heating will not suck the life from my skin.
A drop or two of the divine Hero Project Glow Drops gives the perfect healthy sheen to the face, this dry oil makes it a great option at both the start and end of the day.
My gel moisturiser has been replaced by either the purse friendly Lacura Caviar Cream from Aldi, which makes skin look dewy and plump, this I use if I'm not applying a layer of glow giving face primer.
MV Organic Rose Soothing Protective Moisturiser leaves skin flat, no dewiness but my skin is so smooth.
Over this I use some variant of primer, preferably to glow up my skin, Laura Gellar Spackle Tinted Under Makeup Primer in the shade Champagne is perfect when used in a small amount it bounces light from the high points of the face and gives such an attractive healthy glow to the skin beneath the BB, CC replacing foundations.

I am totally fanatical about cream blush at the moment but it's intensity and shade looks faded and rather dull on my Winter skin tone, so I always add a dot or two of powder blush to lift the colour and give depth. Blushers of choice are Tom Ford Cream Cheek Colour in Pink Sand, H&M Cream Blush in the shade Into The Sunset and Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in shade Happy, to add intensity a blush that changes with the light and my skin tone, perfect as a bronzer and also a pinky hit of colour, Benefit's Rockateur.
I do embrace Autumn and Winter, wonderful candlelit baths, cosy cardigans, bed socks, lot's of throws to snuggle under on the sofa but I did enjoy the subtlety of the applied BB, CC, tinting fluids and the like throughout the Summer, my skin will now be hidden for the next few months under 'proper' foundations. But, at least it'll have a helping hand in the glow stakes.
