When the email landed from Glamour Magazine, would I be interested in trying the Garnier Argan Richness Silicone Free Hair Mask, my reply was instantaneous, yes, please. I love the hair oil from the brand and I wanted to see what a silicone free product could offer.
Garnier Argan Richness presents in a 300ml rounded tub, there is something I find comforting about a substantial tub of product, probably, my inclination to scoop like something possessed at a product so easily accessible.
This paraben and silicone free mask contains ethically sourced argan oil from a cooperative run by several hundred women in Morocco, the fruit is harvested, crushed and the oil extracted.
Ultimate Blends offers to nourish, soften and restore manageability to hair, it has been developed for dry, unruly hair and mine can be so many things, not that I've ever properly managed it throughout my life. It has oily roots but becomes drier as I work along the length of the hair, the hot weather certainly has an effect also, so this I use through half of my hair, the lower part.
Guidance for use is to wash hair, rinse and then apply this through the mid-lengths and leave for 1- 5 minutes, depending on hair damage. It is sumptuous in its consistency a creamy souffle with a warm almond rich sweet scent. The mask works well through the hair, parting the knots and smoothing, leaving hair glistening, I find tieing it up as I continue with my shower works for me and I rinse it out when finished. It feels very silky as the residue is washed away and my fingers can easily negotiate my hair, no straggly parts to catch. I then wrap my hair in a towel, I always air dry my hair, I generally let the towel absorb as much moisture as possible and then remove. Normally I would apply the Garnier hair oil, but, to test this mask, it wasn't part of my routine. My hair dried normally, it was soft and smelt so sweet, the ends had more life, and were less dry, the straw texture had gone.
I styled my hair, well, I dragged straighteners through it and somehow it curled, it still felt very soft and the style held, the condition look better and felt soft to the touch, see below
Yes, it works, hair feels soft, natural and not weighed down, the mask smells amazing leaving a lovely scent on the hair, I really liked the product. As a once a week treat, this is beautiful and it just shows that silicone isn't needed to give hair that smooth feel, which I have always loved.
Garnier works for me, the hair oils and now the mask, what's next to try?
