Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Micro Powder

The compact tale of a face powder from Charlotte Tilbury.

During my thirties, I was an avid user of loose powder, pots of the finely milled pink, yellow or translucent powders. Then I had a long hiatus from powder and embraced the glow, I get a lot of that with my combination skin.
I then had a makeup 'need' to find a powder, but, a compact one, I was finding that any attempt to revisit loose powder to set my makeup made my skin look flat, caked and far too matte.
Compact powders started to improve and some were so subtle, giving a soft focus finish to the skin, especially noticeable when looking at photographs. The novelty of these wore off, I looked at high-street options and they have a great choice, which work but can be obvious on the skin.

And then, well ... Charlotte Tilbury Flawlessly entered my makeup world and the item I didn't bother with until towards the end of last year was her compact, pressed powder in the shade 2 medium. What a fool I was, this is already, I believe, the stuff of legends, makeup artists using nothing else and beauty bloggers, not all fortunate to receive pr packages, love it too. Now it's my turn and my goodness it is flawless in every way.
It floats like icing sugar from brush to face, delicately softening the features, taking the dewiness down to a respectable hint of glow and keeping everything so easily in place. It gives the effect of gauze over the face, not obvious, just smoother. I apply the powder using a medium headed brush, this works well over the whole face but also helps to press the powder under the eyes and around the nose. I have fallen for this simple rose gold packaged powder that I apply it most days when wearing foundation, it never fails to make me look just that little bit better and don't we all want that.

(ready for my close up, all powdered up)

As for choosing a shade, I did view swatches online, the Charlotte Tilbury website here has some very clear photographs. I have found I tend to go a tone up with the range, normally I would have chosen a powder in fair but, this shade is very soft and fair, so, take your time when choosing the products. Once you have them, the love is real and your makeup will just get better and better.
Here's to 2018 and a compact year, or should that be, the year of the compact, this is the only one I need.
