This Blushing Nudes palette from Maybelline has haunted me for months, it launched in America last year and I have waited with baited breath, checked the stand every time I have visited my local Superdrug and hunted the Internet for a Uk launch date - nothing.
Then it was there, in perfect eye line for grubby hands to open, swatch and replace (why do people do it when there is a tester in plain view?)
I didn't need to swatch, oh no, in my basket it went and almost skipped around the rest of the store (almost).
At the first reveal you are presented with twelve pans of matte and shimmer finishes, the shades range from ivory and oyster tones to warm and deep berry shades.
The shadows have a fine ribbed finish which really transfers well onto brushes giving strong pigment payback and a colour that lasts all day. ( I do use an eyelid primer, so I can't comment on results without).
The possibilities are endless with this palette of the looks that can be achieved, there are suggestions on the underside.
The soft finish make them a perfect option for the mobile lid but also the under eye, using them wet gives a beautiful strength of colour without the harshness of a liner.
From subtle daytime to glamorous evening looks this palettes offers it all. It does lean towards very pink and warm tones but there are a couple of cool options and a rather inviting bronze shade.
The packaging is lightweight and the perfect size for a makeup bag, sadly there is no mirror within the palette, there is a space above the perspex window which would be ideal.
The palette pans are level to the palette, rather than seated within a palette of depth, this I find can cause shades to blend together and the palette can look untidy.
I am sure that there will be more to follow and it's great to see high street brands providing quality palettes at such great prices. If you've looked at Urban Decay Naked 3 palette this will give you similar results.
